The Horizon: AI Capabilities and Capacity Building

Looking forward, the NCCC aims to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) for real-time threat analysis, early warning systems, and digital forensics. However, security analysts note that AI tools present a dual challenge, as bad actors increasingly leverage deepfakes, automated phishing, and identity fraud.

To support sustainable defence, the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme continues to integrate cybersecurity skills training. This initiative aims to build a talent pipeline for young Nigerians entering digital forensics, ethical hacking, cyber law, and AI safety.
