Nigeria and The Gambia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation in security, corrections management, and professional capacity building.

The renewed partnership was highlighted during the Passing-Out Ceremony of participants of the Assistant Superintendent of Corrections (ASC) Basic Course International at the Correctional Service Staff College, Kaduna. The programme brought together correctional service personnel from Nigeria and The Gambia, promoting knowledge exchange and regional collaboration.

The training is aimed at improving professional competence, institutional capacity, and operational effectiveness while fostering stronger partnerships in support of national and regional security priorities.

The initiative underscores the importance of international cooperation in building resilient correctional institutions, enhancing public safety, and promoting peace and stability across West Africa.
