President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on African leaders to form a common front in establishing a commodity platform that would strengthen intra-African trade and deepen economic cooperation across the continent. The Nigerian leader made the call while speaking during the presidential panel session at the ongoing Africa CEO Forum 2026 in Kigali.

The forum, held under the theme “The Sovereign Test: Can Africa Turn Continental Alliances into Assets?”, has brought together heads of state, investors, business executives, and policymakers to discuss strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic transformation and regional integration. During his remarks, President Tinubu emphasized the need for African nations to collaborate more effectively in building strong trade systems capable of unlocking the continent’s economic potential and reducing dependence on external markets.

The President also used the platform to highlight the economic reforms implemented by his administration, outlining efforts aimed at repositioning Nigeria as a leading investment destination and promoting sustainable economic growth. State House Correspondent, Musbau Dan-Wahab, reports that discussions at the forum continue to focus on trade, investment, industrial growth, and the future of Africa’s economic alliances.
