Nigeria and Thailand are strengthening cooperation in agriculture through research, innovation, technology transfer and capacity development to boost food production and food security.
The Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, Dr. Dabban, says international partnerships are essential to advancing Nigeria’s agricultural sector through knowledge exchange, modern technologies and research collaboration.

He said stronger collaboration between Nigerian and Thai institutions would create opportunities for researchers, farmers and other agricultural stakeholders to access innovative approaches and practical solutions to challenges affecting food production.

The Provost and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River, Dr. Jude Ejikeme Obidiegwu, said the partnership will target host communities, students, farmers, cooperative societies, private-sector players and innovators.

He added that the collaboration will promote agricultural entrepreneurship, technology transfer and capacity building, while supporting efforts to develop a more productive, resilient and technology-driven agricultural sector.

The partnership is expected to contribute to Nigeria’s food security agenda by strengthening agricultural research, innovation and sustainable development.
