COAS Tasks Commanders on Stronger Intelligence-Driven Operations

The Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, has charged theatre commanders and senior officers of the Nigerian Army to adopt more complex and mission-specific strategies to strengthen operational effectiveness and intelligence-driven operations across the country.

He gave the charge in Abuja during the first bi-annual Chief of Army Staff Conference, held shortly after a joint operation involving the Nigerian Armed Forces and the United States led to the elimination of a senior ISIS commander. The Army Chief emphasized the need for continuous innovation in military tactics aimed at dismantling insurgent and criminal strongholds nationwide.

The conference also reviewed ongoing security operations and strategies to enhance collaboration among security agencies for improved national security outcomes.
