As fears mount over a potential escalation of hostilities between Iran, Israel, and the United States, senior military and intelligence figures from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Türkiye have arrived in Tehran for rare, high-stakes security consultations.
A High-Level Diplomatic Gathering
The delegations arriving in the Iranian capital include high-profile security figures from nations that do not traditionally maintain close ties with Tehran.
Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Türkiye’s intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin are meeting directly with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and senior negotiators. Iranian deputy security chief Ali Bagheri Kani confirmed the ongoing consultations regarding regional stability.

“The discussions are happening at a dangerous moment. Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement has increased missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia, while Washington and Tehran have exchanged sharper threats.”
What Is on the Table
Discussions are focusing heavily on curbing the risk of a wider regional conflagration. According to regional officials, participants are pushing for an understanding between Tehran and Washington to prevent renewed military action.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that talks also encompass the humanitarian and political fallout in the Palestinian territories, Lebanon, and the impact of ongoing US and Israeli military postures. Furthermore, the discussions address Houthi drone and missile activity affecting Saudi territory.
