The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to protect critical national assets and boost crude oil production in the Niger Delta through stronger collaboration between security agencies and the oil and gas industry.

The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, made this known after a high-level closed-door meeting with international oil companies, indigenous oil operators, security agencies, and key stakeholders at the 6 Division, Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt.

The meeting focused on enhancing the protection of oil infrastructure, tackling security threats, and creating a safer operating environment capable of supporting increased crude oil production and economic growth.

The engagement underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening national security while safeguarding strategic energy assets vital to Nigeria’s economy.
