NDLEA Arrests Convicted Cocaine Trafficker in Fresh Saudi Arabia Drug Case

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 34-year-old man with a previous cocaine trafficking conviction who allegedly operated under the cover of a herbal tea business while coordinating cocaine shipments to Saudi Arabia.

According to the anti-narcotics agency, the suspect was allegedly involved in organising drug consignments for international trafficking, using his business activities as a cover.

In a separate development, NDLEA operatives also intercepted a 20,000-litre fuel tanker allegedly modified with a concealed compartment intended for the transportation of illicit drugs.

The latest operations highlight the agency’s continuing efforts to disrupt organised drug trafficking networks, intercept illicit consignments and prevent the movement of narcotics through Nigeria’s transportation and logistics channels.

The cases also demonstrate the growing sophistication of methods allegedly used by drug trafficking networks, including the use of legitimate-looking businesses and modified vehicles to conceal illicit substances.

NDLEA says its intelligence-led operations remain focused on identifying and dismantling trafficking networks and preventing illegal drugs from reaching domestic and international markets.
