Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon Strengthen Security Cooperation Against Terrorism

The Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation and collective security, emphasizing the need for sustained synergy to degrade terrorist networks and stabilize the Lake Chad Basin.

He made this known during a recently concluded meeting of Defence Ministers and troop-contributing countries of the Multinational Joint Task Force under the Lake Chad Basin Commission in N’Djamena, Republic of Chad.

The high-level security meeting brought together representatives from member states including Nigeria, Chad, and Cameroon, who are actively involved in regional security operations. Discussions focused on reviewing ongoing military operations, strengthening collaboration, and enhancing collective strategies to address terrorism and cross-border security threats in the region.

Officials reiterated their commitment to sustained cooperation as a key step toward restoring peace and stability in the Lake Chad Basin.
