As cyber threats continue to evolve, concerns over the security of personal information are growing across government institutions and the wider digital ecosystem.

In response, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission has organized a technical drill for Information Technology administrators in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Abuja.

The exercise is aimed at strengthening cybersecurity awareness, improving data protection practices, and enhancing the capacity of government IT personnel to prevent and respond to cyber intrusions.

With sensitive information such as healthcare records, financial data, voter information, and personal communications increasingly stored online, stakeholders emphasize the need for robust security measures to protect citizens from digital threats.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to reinforce Nigeria’s digital defence architecture and promote compliance with data protection regulations in both the public and private sectors.
